NORTH WEST IRELAND

Electrical Testing & Inspection

Both workplaces and homes are subject to a complex web of legislation, regulations, and recommendations that exist to safeguard the well-being of families, employees, and the public. It is imperative to adhere to these measures. Current Statutory Health and Safety documents, along with relevant Irish Standards, advocate the periodic testing of fixed installations, portable appliances, fire alarms, and emergency lighting. Safe Electric  also advises that domestic wiring be inspected at least every decade or when purchasing a property, providing a safeguard against prior DIY electrical work.

At MG Electrical, we pride ourselves on being Safe Electric registered, with our professionals holding the 5th Edition Level of the NSAI Wiring Regulations and IS 10101:2020 Inspection and Testing Certificates.

Our thorough inspections reveal overloaded circuits or equipment, identify potential shock risks or hazards, detect defective electrical work, highlight the absence of proper earthing or bonding, and provide an overview of the entire installation.

Periodic Fixed Installation Testing is of paramount importance. Faulty fixed electrical installations pose a grave risk of harm or even death. It is a legal requirement to take all necessary precautions to prevent the risk of death or personal injury due to electricity in the course of work activities (Electricity Regulation Act 1999). This entails compliance with the latest IS 10101:2020 Edition, as well as the current NSAI Wiring Regulations and Guidance Notes.

You must meet the requirements of the latest IS 101001:2020 Edition, along with the current NSAI Wiring Regulations and Guidance Notes.

As a result, employers, institutions, and landlords bear a legal obligation to guarantee the safety of all electrical appliances used by their employees, guests, or tenants. This responsibility is mandated by Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations, SI 299, 2007 and is applicable to all commercial settings as well as places where the public reside or visit.
